Upcycling @ Central Singapore aims to encourage residents to move towards a ZERO-WASTE lifestyle by repurposing their unwanted items into useful products through the following programmes:

  1. Central Singapore UPcycling Contest 2018

    The Central Singapore Upcycling Contest invites individuals to bring life to unwanted and pre-loved items by turning them from trash to treasure. The contest encourages creativity while promoting the concept of upcycling and a Zero-Waste lifestyle.

    To  participate, submit your entry to pa_centralsingapore@pa.gov.sg with Subject Header: “Central Singapore Upcycling Contest 2018” together with the following details:

    • Full name
    • NRIC/FIN number
    • Date of birth
    • Residential address
    • Email address
    • Contact number
    • A description of the upcycled entry including the materials used and a short step by step process of how the product is made (no more than 200 words)
    • At least 1 photo of the raw materials and 3 photos of the completed upcycled product (from different angles) in JPEG, PNG or GIFs format with at least 300ppi resolution

    All entries must be submitted via email by 08 November 2018, 5:00pm AND your physical upcycled products must be submitted to Central Singapore CDC’s office during office hours by 08 November 2018, 5:00pm. Please refer to the Terms & Conditions here.

    Join Central Singapore CDC’s Upcycled flea market – The UP Market 2018!

    The UP Market is an annual initiative under Central Singapore CDC’s Project Upcycle umbrella. Started in 2015, The UP Market aims to share the value of Upcycling to our residents and encourage them to think of turning their used items into something useful in a fun and creative way.

  5. Project Upcycle

    Project Upcycle brings upcycling workshops to the heartlands, schools, community events and spaces, encouraging residents to repurpose their used items into something new and useful. Participants can bring their old textiles, boxes and other used materials and walk away with a completely new item at the end of the workshop.

    Did you know the four most commonly discarded materials in Singapore are plastic, glass, paper and fabric. Find out more about these materials and their lasting impact on our earth here.
