Our Wondrous Earth

In celebration and support of Singapore's declaration of 2018 as the Year of Climate Action, Singapore's largest inclusive orchestra, The Purple Symphony, presented its fourth annual concert titled 'Our Wondrous Earth'.

Comprising almost 100 musicians with and without special needs, the orchestra championed the message of climate action through a musical journey of specially curated pieces – from timeless classics like 'Blue Danube' and 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow', to popular soundtracks such as 'Colours of the Wind' and 'My Neighbour Totoro'.

Ms Denise Phua, Mayor of Central Singapore District, said: "This year's concert is an example of how the orchestra can use their talents to raise awareness for key issues such as climate change. It shows that all of us can do our part to make our home and environment a better one. I hope that the music of The Purple Symphony will inspire people to take action, and build a sustainable future for generations to come."
