Central Singapore CDC’s Environment programmes aim to promote a sense of community ownership and belonging, where residents take action to make a positive change for the environment through the 6 R’s: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Repurpose, Recycle. Our programmes under Environment include:

Upcycling @ Central Singapore

Upcycling @ Central Singapore aims to minimise wastage by encouraging residents to turn their unwanted items into useful products. Residents may look forward to picking up the art of upcycling and turn their trash into treasure through a series of regular upcycling workshops organised by Central Singapore CDC. Through the programme, residents may showcase and promote their creative upcycled items at the annual The UP Market, which aims to promote environmental awareness and entrepreneurship among the young.

EcoKnight SG

EcoKnight SG is an initiative by Central Singapore Community Development Council and National Environment Agency - Central Regional Office that aims to foster a community of EcoKnight SG who cares and champions a Zero Waste environment as a way of life. The EcoKnight SG Award recognises passionate and proactive individuals who have contributed selflessly and helped to achieve a Zero Waste Singapore.

Pass-It-On is one of Central Singapore CDC’s green initiatives towards a zero-waste lifestyle.  The programme is managed by The Helping Hand, and provides a meaningful way to distribute unwanted, albeit useful items to benefit the needy (home appliances, home furniture, medical aids, mobility aids and learning aids).
