Employment Assistance

Started in November 2011, CEP is a 6-month interim community employment programme that aims to help low-income northeast residents who are looking for a job to earn some allowance while they continue with their job search.
For job seekers who have not been working for some time, this temporary work experience can provide them the platform to refresh their skills. CEP hopes to help job seekers who are facing challenges in securing a job, recover their self-confidence and self-esteem by offering them interim employment.
While these jobseekers are placed in CEP, the relevant employment agencies will continue to assist them to secure suitable permanent employment. CEP positions include jobs such as Mobile Library Assistant and Café Corner Assistant.


CEP-AA is targeted at seniors age 62 and above, who are interested to work in community related work at Community Clubs / Residents’ Committee. Active Agers will be offered a 1 year employment contract.




  1. Age 62 and above
  2. Applicants below 62 years old may be considered if there is valid reasons for not seeking permanent employment
  3. Maximum 10 working hours per week (Request for longer working hours will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by NECDC)
  4. Salary at $5 per hour, subject to CPF Contributions & CDAC / MBF / SINDA / Eurasian contributions
