Temporary jobs in the community sector are available to assist the low income and unemployed. These jobs serve as an interim measure as residents search for long term employment.
Community Employment Programme - Employment Assistance (CEP – EA)
The programme was mooted in November 2011 and aims to provide unemployed jobseekers with a 6-month interim community employment.
This temporary work experience can provide them the platform to refresh skills, especially to job seekers who have not been working for some time. CEP-EA hopes to help job seekers who are facing challenges in securing a job to recover their self-confidence and self-esteem by offering them interim employment. While these jobseekers are placed in CEP-EA, the relevant employment agencies will continue to assist them to secure suitable permanent employment.
• Unemployed jobseekers residing in North East district
• Actively looking for permanent job
