Reduce @ North West was launched in 2011 to educate and encourage residents to do their part in fighting climate change by reducing energy consumption. Trained students conduct house visits to promote energy conservation and residents are encouraged to participate in a 6 months energy audit that tracks the household energy consumption. Households with the largest energy reduction will stand a chance to win shopping vouchers.

On 11 July 2015, the programme was enhanced to add in a social cause: for every household that signs up for the 6 months energy audit, corporate partner City Developments Limited will donate $10 to help a needy family defray their household utility bill under the North West Utilities Assistance Scheme. The programme aims to assist 600 needy families in the North West District over 3 years.

In 2017, the scope of the programme was expanded to include messages of reducing water consumption and food wastage.

Residents who are keen to sign up for the 6-months energy or water audit and help a needy family defray their utility bill can fill up the application form here
